  • You might have noticed how huge Target stores are. This may lead you to wonder: Which city is home to the biggest Target? The answer is here!

Where Is The Largest Target In 2022?

Annapolis in Maryland, is home to Target’s largest US store. The Target store in Annapolis, Maryland is over 200,000 sq. feet. This is in contrast to its typical size of around 130,000 sq. feet.

  • How Big is Target’s Biggest Store?

Target is the largest retailer at just over 200,000 feet. SuperTarget in Hoover is about 191,000 feet and has almost 4.5 acre under its roof.

In addition to that, the Target store located in The Valley Forge Shopping Center in King of Prussia (Pennsylvania) is measured at approximately 165,000 square feet.

SuperTarget was the name of a previous chain of Targets that sold more services and products in larger sizes than those found at regular Target stores.

In order to provide a hypermarket experience that rivals Walmart Supercenters’, Groceries was added.

  • However, in August of 2015, Target rebranded all stores to simply ‘Target’, and released this statement: “Big or small, our stores have one thing in common: They’re all Target.”
  • After this announcement, newer stores have simply been named Target, although older stores may still have SuperTarget signs on the building.

What City Has The Most Target Stores?

Chicago, Illinois hosts 21 Target stores. This is Chicago’s largest Target store.

Second place is Los Angeles (California), Minneapolis (Minnesota) and Minnesota. They each have 17 store locations.

Additionally, the city with the least amount of Target stores is San Jose, California, with 11 stores.

California is home to 310 Targets, Texas has 53, Florida has 126, and Texas has 153.

    What’s the Smallest Target

Target’s smallest store is located in Wicker Park, Chicago. It measures approximately 12800 square feet.

Target started creating smaller Target stores in 2018 to support urban areas that a large-sized Target would not fit.

The company currently operates 140 small format stores throughout the United States, of which 30 are located close to college campuses. This makes it convenient for students.

The smaller stores are more convenient because they can do a thorough research of the surrounding area in order to identify the most popular products.

To find out the needs of their community, employees will conduct research into nearby businesses.

As a result, one Target store may be entirely different from another Target store only 6 blocks away.

  • Conclusion
  • Annapolis, Maryland hosts the largest Target. The area is approximately 200,000 feet in size (around 4 acres of land).

Target however is working to build more stores of smaller format in the US, so it can be better suited for small communities or urban areas.

Target’s larger stores used to be called SuperTarget. However, the stores have been renamed and are now known as Target.

Depending on where you live, older stores might still be marked SuperTarget.
