Is Aldi Coming To Seattle Or Washington State In 2022?
Aldi has no plans to open any stores in Seattle and Washington State. German supermarket chain Aldi has plans to increase its presence in American Southwest and Gulf Coast. Additionally, it will funnel funds towards store refurbishments in Northeast.
Aldi isn’t coming to Seattle or Washington State!
Aldi is currently focusing their building largely in the American Southwest (they just opened their fourth store in Arizona), but especially in the Gulf Coast region and Florida.
Aldi, in Loxley Alabama, has begun building a new distribution facility to enable goods to move throughout the Gulf Coast region. Aldi’s 38th U.S. State, Louisiana, is the reason for this.
This chain is also involved in numerous store renovations that update interiors and layouts across the Northeast.
I was curious as to why Aldi might focus on the Gulf Coast region over a state like Washington, with the major hub of Seattle. It might be due to the high population density.
It would surprise me if Aldi didn’t consider this when planning for expansion.
Aldi Potentially Locates Shops in Seattle and Washington State
Aldi lovers and Aldi fanatics who were forced to move from Aldi rich states to Aldi barren ones like Washington, have taken to Aldi US’s Facebook page. They have suggestions for where to shop.
Spokane comes up repeatedly, and it was only briefly mentioned on another thread.
So if/when Aldi decides to come to Washington state, they have their choice of cities that would welcome them with open arms.
What Is The Closest Aldi Store To Washington State?
Washington’s residents don’t have much luck finding Aldi stores. They can only find one in Clovis (CA), which is approximately 750m away. Ouch.
Washington State: Where can shoppers buy groceries instead of Aldi?
Despite the high price tag of living in the Seattle area, Washingtonians, in general, have some options for finding comparable grocery prices.
For example, distant cousin Trader Joe’s has 18 stores in Washington, ranging from the capital Olympia, to Seattle, to Spokane.
WinCo Foods is another well-known retailer in the state. This warehouse-style, employee-owned store offers low grocery prices.
Finally, Grocery Outlet Bargain Market is a good option, with its close-to-expiration or discontinued food items at knock-down prices.

Aldi is not planning to travel to Seattle or Washington soon. This shouldn’t be a deterrent.
