With this rapid growth in the United States, the Postal Service is keeping up with it by embracing the massive digital shift that occurred during the 2000s as well as integrating mobile technology within its services.

Customers can create labels and print them online using the Click-N-Ship service of United States Postal Service. This tool is available for several popular mail services including Priority Express and Priority Express. Click-NShip can be used for free. However, postage charges are slightly more expensive than those charged by the Post Office.
How does USPS Click N Ship work?
Let me walk you through how USPS Click-N’Ship works.
Before you go creating a label, there are a few other things to consider.
First, if you are using your own boxes, do you have a scale? In order to accurately print your postage stamp, you need to be able to determine how heavy the parcel is.
You can also use one of USPS Flat Rate envelopes or boxes if your scale is not available.
There are two options for Flat Rate Boxes and Envelopes: You can either get them free at Post Office locations, or you can order them online.
You can order them online and USPS will send them to your home for no cost. That could take a few days, so it is definitely faster to stop in at the Post Office.
Before you begin creating a label, it’s important to understand which services you can purchase postage online.
Click-N–Ship Labels can be made for:
Click-N-Ship labels cannot be created for First-Class Package, First Class International, and First Class First-Class (letters or flats), unfortunately. Package Services, USPS Retail Ground.
Click-N Ship is the page you will navigate to (via Quick Tools at USPS.com) and then click on the “Print A label” button.
Check your Return address on the Print a Label page. You can opt in for “More actions” to sign up for tracking notification and ship from a new zip.
The Delivery Address is next. After you enter the destination, USPS will standardize it (for best sending practices).
Under that heading, you can also choose to send your recipient an email notification with a message and arrange for the package to be held at the Post Office for pick up.
After that, select your shipping date. This can take anywhere from three to seven days.
You will need to decide whether or not you want flat-rate shipping. If the answer is no, you’ll need to indicate how much weight your parcel weighs in pounds and ounces.
Last, select the type of service: Priority Express and Priority Mail. Although the Express service is much faster, Priority Express only ships box packages.
The next page lets you set preferences. You can choose the exact box/envelope type (FlatRate or non), and printer settings.
The website will next take you through all your shipping information and address books before leading you to the Shipping Cart where you’ll pay and check out.
At check-out, you have the option to request your label be printed at your nearest Post Office by using Label Broker, a USPS program.
It is free to use the Label Broker service. Just bring your wrapped parcel along with your confirmation email and the Post Office can print and affix the labels for you.
If your printer is at home you can print labels on regular or special paper.
My experience is that regular paper should be covered as best as you can with packing tape. That way, important information will not get wet or scratched.
You can save money by labeling your boxes online. Also, you can order a parcel pick up online.
