The Crossbody Tote I didn’t Know I Had
I am thrilled to share my thoughts on the Crossbody Tote I recently received from Portland Leather Goods. Made from durable leather, this tote comes in a range of colors and leather thicknesses, including natural full-grain leather, pebbled leathers, and more. I opted for the Grizzly color, which offers a perfect blend of structure and softness. The leather zipper tote is a secure option for daily carry, and the detachable crossbody straps provide added convenience and comfort. The tote’s perfect size and clean, unfussy design make it a great choice for any occasion, whether it’s for work or play.
One thing I love about this leather product is its natural character markings, which give each tote a unique look. The cavernous beauty of this tote is further enhanced by the extra tumbling process that the leather undergoes, which softens it and adds subtle variations to its texture. The natural suede underside is also a nice touch, adding an extra layer of luxury and comfort. And with the brass rivets and curved design, this tote adds a punch of style to my everyday carry.
As with any natural product, there may be slight color variations and natural beauty marks. But these only add to the charm and individuality of the tote. For those looking for a zippered option, the Crossbody Tote also comes in a variety of zipper options, including a zipper closure for a larger laptop.
At a retail price that is among the lowest in the market, this tote is a steal. And with standard shipping, you can expect to receive your order within 1-5 business days, depending on seasonal order volumes. Portland Leather Goods also offers premium items like the Piel Leather Saphyr Tan Leather Top Handle Tote and the A5 Leather Journal, so you can find the perfect style and size for your needs.
Whether you’re a student carrying a laptop and daily items, or simply looking for a versatile and stylish carry-on tote, the Crossbody Tote from Portland Leather Goods is the perfect size and the perfect addition to your collection. So why not give it a try and experience the amazing leather for yourself?
Madewell Vs. Leather Tote Fashionable Vs. Cuyana
I noticed that this post has been generating a lot of traffic, so I thought it was time for an update!
I decided to part ways with my Madewell bag as it was collecting dust. While it initially served as my go-to purse, it became too bulky for my liking as our baby items and diaper needs grew. Nowadays, I prefer a smaller crossbody or tote option. I purchased another Madewell bag, a smaller crossbody transport tote, but was disappointed to discover that the quality had declined since my first Madewell bag purchase. The strap is made of much thinner leather and feels more synthetic than genuine leather. Instead of a single buckle, there is now a series of brass knobs holding the strap together.
Although I own a beloved Able Tote, I rarely find myself using it, mostly due to its color. However, I recently received a Tirhas saddlebag as a gift, and I absolutely adore it!
Last spring, I collaborated with Cuyana to promote an event in Portland, and in return, I received some gifted merchandise. I chose the Classic Tote in caramel because my tall tote always felt a bit too large for my liking. This tote has quickly become one of my favorite tote. I love the rich and warm caramel color. It’s a bag I highly recommend!
I met Grechen a while ago, and she is a friend and blogger. I came across her blog when I was searching for leather totes online. Over the years, my collection of genuine leather totes has grown, initially sparked by my search for the Madewell Transport Tote. After using them regularly for the past one to two years, I believe it’s time to share my insights. The internet has made it possible to read feedback on almost anything before making a purchase. However, it can sometimes become overwhelming. So, below, I have compiled my thoughts along with any questions to provide you with straightforward reviews of the Zip Transport Tote (Madewell), the Mamuye Leather Tote (Fashionable), and the Tall Leather Tote.
How long I owned it: 1 year, 11 months. What I love the most about it is the thickness of the leather. It provides enough structure, and its natural grain and wrinkles are starting to show, giving it a character. The leather has been finished and sealed, making it resistant to spills and stains.
The thing I dislike the most about it is the handles, as they make it difficult to carry it as a true tote. However, I can carry the bag either on my shoulder or crossbody, which provides some versatility. Sometimes, I wish I could easily throw the long handles across my shoulders, but it’s not logistically feasible.
Country of origin: China. Weight + Shape: This bag is slightly heavier due to the extra leather strap and brass details, but overall it remains relatively lightweight. The Zip Transport Tote is lined and features an inside pocket. The leather used is thick enough to maintain its shape, and the bag retains its form even when fully packed.
